Nogeyama Zoo


Nogeyama Zoo is located in Sakuragi-cho. Admission to the park is free. You can see many animals and have a special experience interacting with cute animals in their petting zoo.

What to do

You can interact with guinea pigs and mice at the petting zoo. There are chicks and rabbits too!

What to see

You can see many kinds of animals. For example, giraffes, a lion, bear cats, monkeys, deer, penguins, and so on.

When to go

Spring is the best season. It is warm and you can enjoy the cherry blossom trees. In particular, weekdays in March are better as it will not be crowded with people, and you can see and interact with the animals freely. For instance, soft ice cream is popular with many visitors.


Nogeyama Zoo has a place where you can rest and eat something.There is a shop selling light snacks. For instance, soft ice cream is popular with many visitors.


There is a souvenir shop. It is located near the entrance. You can buy animal key holders, soft toys, and so on.

Opening hours
The zoo opens from 9:30 to 16:30 almost everyday.
It is closed on every Monday (but if Monday is a holiday, the next day (Tuesday) will be closed.
It is also closed from December 29th to January 1st. However, the zoo is open every day in May and October.

Getting here
Get on the JR Keihin-Tohoku line, and get out at the Sakuragi-cho station. After getting out from the south exit, you can see the stairs if you turn right.
Go down the stairs and go straight, and you can see the exit stairs. Go up the stairs and you can see the sign which shows you the way to the zoo.
Follow the signs, and you will get there.
Surrounding area
Near the zoo, there are a park and library. In the park, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of each season.
