Sagamihara Asamizo Park
Asamizo is a very popular park in Sagamihara. There are a lot of fun places, like the "Hureai Animal Plaza" mini zoo, athletic field, and pony riding ground. At the mini zoo, you can see many animals such as squirrels, raccoons and birds. Also, you can enjoy milking a cow! The Green Tower of Sagamihara is the symbol of the park. You can enjoy the view from there for free!
On a sunny day, you can see Tokyo Sky Tree and Mount Fuji. The large flower beds are very beautiful. You can see seasonal flowers there. Some areas in the park allow dogs so you can take a walk with your dog. Come enjoy the beautiful nature and join in the fun activities at Sagamihara Asamizo Park!
What to do
At the "Hureai Animal Plaza" mini zoo, you can enjoy the exhibit section, petting farm, and pony rides here. It is a good opportunity for children to meet animals and learn how to play with them nicely.
At the Exhibit section, you can see animals up close. There are a lot of animals like meerkats, squirrels, raccoons, peafowls, parakeets, cows, and pigs; Let’s have some fun time with them!
At the petting farm, you can give small animals a huge hug or feed them their favorite food! Cute guinea pigs, fluffy sheep, and hungry goats are waiting for your visit!
Children who are age 12 and below can enjoy a pony ride. To ride, buy a ticket at the office near the grounds. It costs 100 yen per ride.
There are many kinds of athletic equipment in the park. You can enjoy 25 kinds of athletic equipment there. Let’s get a workout from doing athletics, like walking on a suspension bridge and crossing a log! You have to be an elementary student or older to use this facility.

Large Flower Bed
There is a large flower bed in the center square. It is very beautiful and very impressive. You can see colorful seasonal flowers and take picturesque photographs here.
Ajisai Fair (Japanese hydrangea)
[From mid-June to the last part of June]
There are 200 kinds of flowers around the park. You can see them at the Forest Plaza and Athletic Field area. June is the best season to see the hydrangeas.
Clematis Fair [From mid-May to the last part of October]
There are around 230 kinds of flowers covering the outer fence. Clematis Fair is held every year in May.
You can learn basic horse-riding skills and how to care for horses. You can also experience cleaning a stable. This class is for elementary and middle school students.
You can learn how to take care of animals and make food for them. If you join this club, you have to participate once a month for a year at any time you like. Participation is free!
This class is for children who are from third grade of elementary school to the third year of middle school.
After you go through the main entrance, you will see this plaza. It is located on a slope, so you can have a great view of the park. There is a tower called Time of Rotonda at the center on this plaza. You can enjoy listening to the various melodies from the bell ringing by the hour.
There are retail shops and vending machines in the park. There is a cafe, too.
